Asha Maclean Finds Balance with New Single 'Yoga'

NYC's own R&B-meets-pop sensation, Asha Maclean, is set to drop her latest single, 'Yoga', and it's an absolute must-listen. This track is a seriously catchy tune that perfectly showcases Asha's captivating and smooth vocals. They just effortlessly drift over a vibrant mix of dance-ready rhythms, blending a rush of pop energy with that irresistible feel of '90s R&B.

Lyrically, 'Yoga' delves into the dynamic flow of relationships, hitting on those euphoric highs and the more challenging moments. It cleverly draws a parallel between the beautiful messiness of modern romance and the effort needed to nail a tough yoga pose – finding that sweet spot of balance. As Asha herself puts it, "I just loved the sound of the greats. They were a huge inspiration for me to start singing."

Asha has a knack for channelling the spirit of music icons like Michael and Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Queen. The result is a sound that feels both excitingly fresh and comfortably familiar. Her unique artistic style shines through in everything she does, from her powerful singing to her innovative dance moves.

This rising star has already made a name for herself, working with big hitters like Grammy-winning producer Charles Farrar, Boyz II Men, and Darius Rucker. Growing up in Lower Manhattan's Battery Park City meant Asha was surrounded by creativity from the get-go. Her home and school life actively encouraged her artistic side. "My mom is a visual artist," she explains, "and my dad worked with people who were in the music industry and was an artist himself." Her parents introduced her to legendary artists, shaping her early musical tastes.

School further fueled her passion, with a curriculum that rotated through dance, singing, digital art, and visual arts. Singing and dancing quickly became her focus. "I was always singing karaoke-style and making up my own dance routines," she adds. By the time she hit high school, Asha was sharing covers online. A Billie Eilish cover when she was just 14 proved to be a turning point. "I was 14, and I posted a video of me singing a Billie Eilish song," she says, "and that’s when I was discovered." This caught the ear of Grammy-winning producer Charles Farrar, known for his work with major R&B acts. Now, under his guidance at VYRUS MEDIA, Asha is truly coming into her own, ready to share her vibrant and soulful sound with the world.
