Life can throw unexpected curveballs, and for artist Kryptblunite, a sudden health scare in June 2024 became the unlikely catalyst for a deep dive into music. Facing unexplained pain for months after a hospital visit where doctors couldn't pinpoint the cause, he found solace and purpose in writing. Despite living on painkillers for a significant period, the urge to put words on paper was strong and consistent.
Seeking further medical help eventually provided some relief, but the writing had already taken hold. What started as daily lyrical exercises soon evolved into full-fledged songs after he brought in someone to craft music around his words. Since then, creating music has become an integral part of his life, a driving force fuelled by a desire to connect with others.
After previously landing on our radar with the release of ‘Traditional Man’, Kryptblunite is back with another potent shot of modern hip-hop. A track about living someone else’s dream, ‘Chasing Dreams’ hits as a uniquely powerful statement, showcasing Kryptblunite at his most intense. It blends an experimental hip-hop edge with potent rock melodics, creating a driven soundscape for his incisive rap delivery. His flow is commanding, spitting memorable lines like, “I was miserable, following someone else’s dreams, I learned real quick, that there was no I in team”.
Speaking candidly about the track, Kryptblunite shared, “This is something I wrote for anyone who was told to follow someone else's dreams, and to forgot about your own. I am currently chasing my own dreams.”
Kryptblunite's ultimate aim is to share his experiences and his music with the world, particularly for those who might have faced similar struggles. As he puts it, "My music is my stories." Beyond his own narrative, he also dedicates his time to writing lyrics based on the stories others share with him, free of charge. He sees this ability to translate shared experiences into song as a gift born from his own period of adversity, using it to craft music that is both relatable and enjoyable for a broad audience.
Even now, while managing acute migraines daily with medication, the creative impulse remains potent. Any free moment is dedicated to brainstorming ideas for his next track. It's an almost addictive process for him; the feeling of not writing or producing new material feels like a missed opportunity to inspire through his art.
