The Amazons Unleash Riff-Heavy New Single Ahead of Upcoming Album

British rock outfit The Amazons are back with a bang, dropping their powerful new single, 'Night After Night'. The track arrives hot on the heels of their massive collaboration with Royal Blood on 'My Blood' and the recent offering 'Love is a Dog From Hell', building serious momentum for their forthcoming fourth studio album.

'Night After Night' is a potent blast of the band's signature sound, packed with colossal riffs and raw energy that fans have come to expect.' It serves as another exciting preview of what's to come on their album, '21st Century Fiction', which is set to land on 9th May via Nettwerk.

Diving into themes of frustration and self-reflection, the inspiration for 'Night After Night' struck the band after spending time at Jumbo’s Clown Room in Hollywood. This spot, known as a longtime favourite of figures like David Lynch and Charles Bukowski, became a potent symbol for lead singer Matt Thomson. He explained, “What interested us were the guys who’d go there all the time, who became part of the furniture, at the bar night after night compelled to be there, unable to break out. It’s easy to judge, but we all have our habits, some more visible than others. It’s only when we try to hop the fence, that we realise how much of a hold they have over us.”

'21st Century Fiction' is shaping up to be a deeply introspective record. The album is described as capturing the perspective of "a man in his late 20s, struggling with unrealistic ideals of masculinity and a sense of unfulfilled promise," all set against the backdrop of "a world plagued by chaos." These are songs that Matt Thomson felt a genuine need to write, not only for his own well-being but also to connect with other young men facing similar challenges.

The upcoming album marks a bold evolution for The Amazons. While still loaded with their trademark aggressive riffs and roaring sound, '21st Century Fiction' introduces a new layer of introspection and grandiose energy. With three successful Top 10 albums and sold-out shows globally already under their belt, The Amazons are clearly looking towards the future, sounding invigorated and ready for whatever comes next.
