Sydney's own punk rock powerhouse, FANGZ, are gearing up to unleash their highly anticipated debut album, 'Shui', on Friday, July 4th, via Impressed Recordings. And if that wasn't exciting enough, they're backing it up with their biggest national headline tour to date! The news has landed alongside their latest explosive single, 'Anne Marie', a track already making waves thanks to production from Tim Maxwell (LOSER) and mixing by Jonathan Gardner (Front End Loader, Grinspoon).
'Anne Marie' kicks off with a blistering assault of razor-sharp punk riffs, relentless rhythms, and Josh Cottreau's signature searing vocals, immediately setting a tone of pure, unadulterated ferocity. Those chant-along choruses build to an explosive bridge, unleashing a tidal wave of distorted guitars, double-timed drums, and an exuberant solo that cranks everything up to eleven.
Frontman Josh Cottreau reveals the heartfelt meaning behind the track: "'Anne Marie' is a heartfelt tribute to my sister, Leigh-Anne Marie — a constant source of strength, support, and unconditional love. The song reflects on moments of struggle, gratitude, and personal growth, honouring the one person who never gave up, even when times were hardest. It's a message of appreciation for her unwavering belief and a reminder to keep going and never stop doing what you love."
The band's upcoming national tour is set to tear through Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gold Coast, and Caloundra. Tickets are flying fast over at fangz.band, so don't sleep on it! This epic run follows a hectic 2025 for FANGZ, who successfully launched the Melbourne and Brisbane editions of their own FANGZstock festival and packed out the global premiere of 'Shui' at Trocadero Room, Sydney, presented by Great Southern Nights.
FANGZ are no strangers to the road, having traversed the country multiple times, selling out headline shows, conquering festivals, and sharing stages with heavyweights like FIDLAR (USA), Pennywise (USA), The Bronx (USA), and many more. This band lives and breathes the grind, even holding the Guinness World Record for the most hard-boiled eggs eaten in one sitting by frontman Josh Cottreau.
