Venice Qin is back with a bang, dropping her latest track ‘Freak Out’, a vibrant follow-up to the recently released ‘New Woman’. This new single is an absolute banger, designed to get you moving and celebrating those connections with people who truly get you.
‘Freak Out’ isn't just a solo effort; it's a testament to the collaborative spirit of Australian music. The track boasts a stellar line-up behind the scenes, with the brilliant Maribelle (Vetta Borne) on production, the incredibly talented Lucy Blomkamp handling the mix, and the mastering finesse of Antonia Gauci. It’s a dream team that has clearly brought out the best in Qin’s vision.
Venice continues to carve out her unique space in the alt-pop scene, expertly navigating the delicate balance between raw vulnerability and unshakeable confidence. This push-and-pull, this embrace of both introspection and fearlessness, is quickly becoming a signature of her sound. It’s clear that Qin is on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, eager to connect with an audience who resonates with her distinctive energy and eccentric charm.
Qin herself shed some light on the inspiration behind the track, explaining, “‘Freak Out’ is about the vulnerability of opening up to someone. From a lot of my life, I kept most people at a distance so that they could never hurt me. When I eventually stopped doing that, it terrified the crap out of me. I suddenly became insecure of all the energy and chaos I bring. I began wondering if the chaos would always be too much for people. However, no matter how terrified I was and how much I freaked out, I kept sticking with these people as the risk and chemistry kept magnetically pulling us together.” This candid insight only adds another layer of depth to an already captivating track.
But the ‘Freak Out’ experience doesn't stop with the music. Venice is also launching a quirky miniseries called ‘5 STARS’. This series sees her navigating the streets of Sydney in various Ubers, engaging in chats with drivers about her musical influences, playing iconic tunes, and, of course, spinning her own tracks.
