A producer and beatmaker from Baltimore, CA$H BANDIT is an obscure talent on the verge of releasing a new album. To celebrate this achievement, we took the time to preview lead single, ‘Norman Bates’, and have a somewhat brief chat about what we can expect from the full-length release this year.
How did you first start making music? Where did it all begin?
“I first started making music in freshman year of high school. I used to freestyle a lot now its turned into full songs.”
You have a unique sound. How would you describe is to those not familiar with your work?
What influences most define your music?
“My most popular influences are Yung Pinch and Trippie Red.”
Your new single is slowly becoming an internet hit, what’s next for you?
“Hopefully a full length album and more eps and singles.”
Tell us about your upcoming release.
“My newest release is an EP called in ‘CA$H I TRUST’.”
What is your songwriting process? How does it all come together?
“Me and my friends get together and freestyle over beats to get an idea. One day out of the week I take a day to make songs in my studio.”
What’s the most important thing for you when you’re writing a song?
What has been your best moment as a musician/band so far?
“Working with some of my favourite artists.”
What would you dream collaboration be?
Either Cousin Stizz or Smileyface.
Finally, what advice would you give to artists like yourself who are looking to make their mark on the industry?
“Just keep on grinding and hard work pays off.”
