Review: Andy Macktastic – ‘Dance Starter’

An aspiring new talent who embodies the East Coast spirit, Andy Macktastic has been steadily making his mark on the dance scene with a string of pop-infused singles. Influenced by a long list of pop and RnB greats such as Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Timbaland and Missy Elliott, Andy is set on carving his own path in the music industry.

His latest foray into the world of vibrant dance-pop comes in the form of ‘Dance Starter’, a measured pop anthem that shines through a deep, rolling melody and looped percussive strikes. Designed to be a certified party starter, ‘Dance Starter’ is a simple, but effective song that offers no unnecessary intricacies or false pretences. At its very core, it’s a dance-by-numbers anthem that knows it’s boundaries and stays firmly on point, laying a clean and unwavering foundation for Andy’s enduring vocals.

Of the song, Andy has said that the most important thing is that it’s “a song that I hope makes people want to dance, and helps people live their best lives”, and in all honesty, he’s right on point. Undeniably fun, ‘Dance Starter’ is exactly what it says on the tin, and it should certainly be celebrated for that.

You can find ‘Dance Starter’ on all major platforms here.
