Review: Hro Palyan – ‘2 Faced’

Hro Palyan is an up-and-coming Armenian-American hip-hop artist currently based in Los Angeles, CA. His journey into a musical career started in childhood when he learned how to play the piano and electric guitar, and since then he’s never looked back.

Influenced by his older brother who first introduced him to the world of rap and hip-hop, Hro has gone from strength to strength with the help and encouragement of his fellow artists.

Using music as an outlet to express himself, Hro has been refining his skills and building his sound, pushing to reach the same heights as his icons. Citing an impressive list of influences such as Dre, Eminem, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dog, Tupac, Naz, Jay-Z, and DMX, there’s massive expectations set upon every release that Hro puts forward. His previous singles, ‘Sick Freaks’ and ‘White China’ set that standard, and now with the release of new album ‘2 Faced’, it’s time to see if Hro’s kept up with the hype.

A twelve-track release, ‘2 Faced’ is a heavy collection that showcases the breadth of Hro’s musical and personal growth. Opening with beats that draw in the listener and an indelible onslaught of brutal, honest lyrics, the album is a hard-hitting release that leaves little room for doubt in your mind.

Although Hro’s career so far has been relatively short, he’s made quick ground, and the album really is a testament to his natural abilities. ‘2 Faced’ is available now on Spotify, iTunes, Google Music, and Tidal.

Score: 8/10
