A recording artist and poet, Benson Adelegan was born in North London in 1987 and has spent every year since working on his music career. Best known to his followers as K 3U77 (pronounced K Buzz), he’s an evolving artist that has emerged from the vibrant Afrobeats scene, fusing the dizzying tribal sounds with more traditional RnB and hip-hop elements.
Growing up, K 3U77 was constantly inspired by the sounds of Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie, Fela Kuti, Nas, Jay z, and artists of the Motown era, spinning their sounds together with his own unique edge to make a wonderfully unique style. Through his hard work and determination, K 3U77 has been able to spread his sound across the globe, building a dedicated following through the release of his debut EP, ‘Power of Love’ in 2008. Since then, he’s been a prolific and unstoppable artist, continually evolving and refining his unique, melodic style.
His latest release, ‘Hennyting Goes’ was built from K 3U77’s interest in the viral Shaku and Zanku dances that have surfaced online up in the past few years. Featuring the talents of Zlatan, the new single contrasts his animated flow with K 3U77’s calculated and forceful delivery, fusing the sounds in a showing of collaborative chemistry. Backed by hard-hitting, wild instrumentation, ‘Hennyting Goes’ has a dance energy and a rap mentality, offering distinct and inescapable sounds that perfectly illustrates K 3U77’s will to experiment.
The finished product aims to breed positivity, encouraging listeners to break free and “dance as you like, do as you like, live your life to the fullest”. It’s an invigorating and unrelenting track, one that hits hard and then keeps on hitting, ensuring that by the end of its three-and-a-half-minute run, you’ll be screaming for more.
