An electro-grunge trio from the heart of Toronto, Canada, Hot Lips have been carving up the music scene throughout 2019 with a string of new releases that are built to impress. Featuring Karli Forgèt (vocals/synth), Alex Black (bass/vocals) and Keith Heppler (drums), the band was born in 2016 when Forgèt broke away from previous projects and dove headfirst into a more synth-driven artform, enlisting the help of Heppler and Black to transform her musicianship into something more.
After gaining a strong following on the underground scene for their energetic and engaging live shows, the band secured for themselves a series of impressive supporting slots, backing the likes of Rob Zombie, Michale Graves of the Misfits, 3Teeth, MONOWHALES, Econoline Crush, Rusty, Crown Lands and Swollen Members.
In 2017, the band capitalised on their growing momentum, releasing a seminal debut EP in the form of ‘American Hardcore’, a release that would see them making waves on an international scale with airplay across Germany, the US, and the UK, and in their native Canada. Now, the band are set to kick things up a notch once again, pushing their visceral sound to new heights with new single, ‘Day of the Dead’.
Complete with a landmark new music video directed and edited by Ryan Brough of Zeebrah Media, the new video perfectly echoes the hard-hitting sound. Built on an unassailable wave of synths, bass guitar, and drums, ‘Day of the Dead’ is the perfect illustration of Hot Lips’ incredible sound.
