Lost in Pensacola with TMB Lil Rob, An Artist on the Rise

It’s always exciting to catch up with artists who are pushing their sound and evolving their craft. Today, we’re sitting down with TMB Lil Rob, a name that's been resonating throughout the music scene for over a decade. Having started out primarily rapping, TMB Lil Rob has significantly expanded his sonic palette, leading us to his anticipated new project. Dropping on 30th May 2025, 'Lost in Pensacola 2' is a seven-track R&B offering and the follow-up to his earlier release, 'Lost in Pensacola'.

Featuring collaborations with Stoney Loure, MC Buster, and TMB labelmate and brother Rano Izzo, this project is a deeply personal event and represents a significant moment in his musical journey. In our latest interview, we dig into TMB Lil Rob’s origins, tracing his steps back 12 years to where it all began and the legends who first sparked his passion. We also get the inside look on ‘Lost in Pensacola 2’, finding out what it means to him, the influences that shaped its sound, and the surprisingly quick, organic process behind its creation

It’s great to have you here, thanks for taking the time out to chat about the new project. Taking things right back for you - when did you first start making music?

“Man, it really started about 12 years ago. I was young, just vibing with friends, writing raps, and recording however we could. I was inspired by legends like Lil Wayne and Tupac. Wayne made me love wordplay and consistency, and Tupac made me understand the power of emotion and message in music. That’s the energy I try to bring every time I drop something.”

The new album is set to be another big milestone for you. Can you tell us a bit about ‘Lost In Pensacole 2’ and what it means to you?

“’Lost in Pensacola 2’ is special to me. I put a lot of work into it—every song was crafted with care. Even though I had fun making it, I made sure the message and the vibe were right. I don’t just drop to drop, I want everything to mean something. This project is a reflection of growth, and it’s a sound I’m proud of.”

Are there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when writing the release?

“A lot of the vibe came from Pensacola itself, just the culture, the talent, the energy. But honestly, Rano Izzo played a big role. That’s my brother, and he always pushes me to stay locked in. He’s one of those people who makes you want to level up, and having him on the project kept the motivation high.”

What was your songwriting process for the release? How did it all come together?

“I actually finished the whole thing in about a week, in like just two sessions. The songs came naturally this time around, which made it easier to focus on the message of every song. Everything flowed, and the energy in the studio was right. It didn’t feel forced, and I think people will hear that when they listen. My favourite song on the project is ‘Not Enough’ featuring Stoney Loure, I can really hear that song on the radio.”

While the album doesn’t drop until the end of the month, do you have anything planned for after? Anything special for us to look out for?

“After ‘Lost in Pensacola 2’, I’m planning to take a few months to really push it—promote it, and keep it in people’s ears. After that, I’ll be diving back into my next major album ‘Visitor on Earth 3’. That one’s been highly anticipated, and I’m excited to bring it to life. I’ll definitely be back to talk about that when the time’s right.”

15. Is there anything you would like to say to our audience? How can they connect with you and help support you?

“I just want to say thank you. Whether you’ve been rocking with me from day one or you just found out about me, thank you. The best way to support me is to stream the music, share it, and let me know what you think. I’m always open to feedback, whether it’s love or ways I can improve. Hit me up on IG: @tmblilrob. Let’s build something real.”
