Or Golan Is Back And Opening Up About Funky Comeback Single ’We Are Hot’

After a year-long hiatus, Or Golan has made a spectacular return to the music scene with ‘We Are Hot’. Known for constantly redefining his sound and taking on new waves of electronic dance music, Or Golan has solidified his name in the global dance landscape with over a million singles sold, crafting tracks that are a cosmic fusion of rhythm and raw emotion. His unique sound, drawing from electro-pop, future house, trance, and techno, transforms dancefloors into launchpads for escapism and pure euphoria, making him a true sonic architect of movement.

His highly anticipated comeback single, ‘We Are Hot’, is a sizzling blend of retro-funk, neon-drenched synths, electropop swagger, and a touch of hip-hop crunk. More than just a return, this track is a celebration of obsession, unrequited emotion, and the undeniable pulse of dancefloor energy. We caught up with Or Golan to learn a bit more about the inspirations behind his latest release, his unique songwriting process, and how he feels about the evolution of his distinctive sound.

It's great to chat with you again – it’s been a while since we last spoke! Let’s dig into things before we get to the new single - when did you first start making music? Where did it all begin, and what inspired you?

“Hi! Hello everyone in Australia and the surrounding area, nice for me to get back to you for another interview.”

“In general, I started a mistake, like any good thing that starts with human error, or such a big idea, from where we continue to things, just a few minutes ago I remembered at my beginning, I would describe it as a huge thing for a huge thing, but every musician can tell you something different because we are all different and varied.”

The new single has been garnering a lot of positive attention online. Can you tell us a bit about your latest release and what it means to you?

“Sure, the last song that came out is a song that is all infected; especially in the 1980s, at the beginning of electronic music, the world of music had just begun exploring and experimenting with things. I love this period, if I lived in it, I would probably do something good (not like today's period).”

Are there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when writing the release?

“I don't think about other copied effects or write just like another artist because it will just come out badly. If every song was copied from the song before, I would open a clothing factory and I would do all the clothes the same. I don't have a clothing factory, so I'm a musician, with me, everything is different from its predecessor, and that's what you do is unique.”

What was your songwriting process for the release? How did it all come together?

“First of all, there is a melody, I all start with melodies, I'm all a melody, I think if you don't have something preliminary that it isn’t good - don't make a work of art. If the words come well, then do words too, but don't have to. Emotion comes and emotion goes, but what you stay with is what will work on you to get far.”

How would you describe the sound on your latest release? Has there been a change or evolution in style since you first began?

“Type of sound: strange.”

“Type of melody: electronic with something added.”

“Type words: Wrap the tune into something good (I think).”

“I don't think I've evolved a lot. I have everything raw, the music for me too, but that's what posted me and that's what I'm going.”

Is there a central message or theme you were trying to convey in your latest release? Is there a moment in the release that really captures that idea?

“Look, I have already defined my music in front of me, so my definitions are not important, once a singer named Dana International, maybe you know her, she said ‘what are those headlines? It's words that one decides to print and highlight them, people think it's yellow, which is my gossip,’ what we don't say the artists, but every artist is something different.”

As the final pulsating synths of ‘We Are Hot’ fade, it's clear that Or Golan isn't just back; he's ignited a new chapter in his already illustrious career. His raw, uncompromising approach to music-making continues to yield hit anthems that are impossible to resist, proving that his legacy as an artist who unlocks emotions and sets the scene on fire is firmly cemented.

This new release is a testament to his enduring talent and deserves every ounce of acclaim it will undoubtedly receive. For more from Or Golan, connect today on Instagram and X.
