Flynn Gurry's Latest Gem Is A Dreamy Folk-Pop Anthem

Flynn Gurry, the talented Aussie singer-songwriter, has just dropped his latest track, 'Don't Stop Dreaming', a vibrant folk-pop tune that's as uplifting as it is catchy. This energetic single, hot on the heels of an impressive run of support slots and festival appearances, arrives just in time for Gurry's inaugural headline tour across Australia's east coast this June.

'Don't Stop Dreaming' kicks off with a thoughtful, introspective vibe before bursting into a rousing chorus that'll have you singing along in no time. Gurry’s heartfelt declaration, “Don’t stop dreaming now, don’t stop dreaming now, keep that fire burning, let it all pour out,” perfectly captures the track’s optimistic spirit. It’s a genuine pick-me-up, reminiscent of Vance Joy’s sun-drenched melodies blended with the anthemic energy of Mumford & Sons.

Penned during a bout of post-tour reflection, the song delves into the highs and lows of life on the road and the quest to keep that inner spark alive. Gurry openly shares, "This song was written post-comedown from my first big tour... Ultimately this song is a reminder to myself to not stop dreaming, reminding me to keep pushing and not forget the little person with his guitar just wanting to play the fuck out of it in front of people.” This raw honesty gives the track a deeply personal touch, making it all the more relatable.

The production on 'Don't Stop Dreaming' is stellar, with Joel Quartermain (known for his work with Eskimo Joe and Meg Mac) and Edwin White (who’s crafted hits for Vance Joy and Amy Shark) at the helm. This marks Gurry’s first release under his new partnership with ABC Music, a significant milestone in his burgeoning career. The accompanying music video, co-created with Michael Peters and Patrick Pierce, adds another layer of charm, featuring a younger version of Flynn – portrayed by his nephew – symbolising the importance of nurturing our inner child and maintaining that playful energy.

Hailing from Warrnambool, Victoria, Gurry has been steadily building a buzz in the Australian music scene. His recent signing with Cult Artists for bookings and Woolstore Music for management, alongside the ABC Records deal, speaks volumes about his rising profile. Having supported big names like Ian Moss and King Stingray, and securing the triple j Unearthed One Night Stand competition in 2024, Gurry is no stranger to the spotlight. His upcoming headline tour promises an intimate experience filled with “lots of songs, stories and 12 string guitar,” showcasing his talent and magnetic stage presence.
