A prolific and wonderfully talented singer and songwriter, Eduardo María was born and raised in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Armed with a passion for Latin pop music, mixed seamlessly with flourishes of urban sounds and modern house anthemics, Eduardo has been releasing a new single every month since 2022, exploring genres and creating a vibrant musical journey.
From Afro-beats to house music, Eduardo’s impressive string of releases has seen him pushing boundaries and adding his own unique twist to some well known sounds, layering mainstream melodies with elements from his culture and traditions. Throughout his childhood, Eduardo was raised between his grandmother’s house in the suburbs and his father’s house in the barrio Paris of Mayagüez. The duality of those two worlds during his childhood had a strong impact on his sound, and in the barrio he learned to be more outgoing, to take care of himself and to listen to salsa singers such as Frankie Ruiz, Ismael Rivera and Rey Ruiz.
It was those moments listening to boleros from singers such as La Lupe, Vicentico Valdés and Benny More that lit Eduardo’s passion for music, setting the foundation for the leap of faith he would later take. Fast forward to 2023, and Eduardo has found himself building an impressive fanbase, and he continues to experiment with new sound and genres to better capture the moments and feelings that are not often expressed by common social standards.
So far this year, Eduardo has already shared four impressive singles, spanning new genres like smooth electronic elements in ‘CARTIER PT2’ and more tempered techno influences in ‘TEICU’. In true form, Eduardo’s recent releases are an immersive experience, offering something new at every turn to keep you well and truly hooked.
With new releases coming throughout the year, it’s clear that Eduardo has become a talent to watch. So far, he has been in the roster of emerging independent artists for Breaking Sound, performed at the legendary Whisky a Go Go, and recently was selected to be a part of the WMX x Coca-Cola® Transformation Team through Uproxx.
