A passionate performer who has lived a bold performative journey through life, Anthony J Fink began his career as a dancer, taking to the world of musical theatre with an undeniable passion. A classically trained vocalist and pianist through his attendance at Western Michigan University, he has evolved to be a complete and wonderfully expansive artist, establishing himself as one of the most hotly anticipated performers of the last few years.
Throughout his solo career, Anthony has remained committed to consoling his listeners and spreading awareness of addiction, depression, and suicide, tackling the most difficult and often maligned topic head-on. For his new EP, ‘Feel the Rain’, Anthony has stayed true to this emotive calling, touching on loss, turmoil, and recovery in a way that is utterly entrancing and deeply moving.
Musically, the EP is a rolling mix of visceral rock anthemics, singer-songwriter candour and ‘70s piano pop, layering bright, yet moving melodies with stark vocal passages to create a uniquely expressive sound. At its core, ‘Feel the Rain’ is a brilliant, musical journey packed with compassion and amplified by raw instrumental talent and sheer production to deliver a poignant and unforgettable listening experience.
Speaking openly about the EP, Anthony shared, “’Feel the Rain’ touches on many things. Loss is a big focus. My parents passed away when I was very young due to alcohol addiction. I have struggled with relationships in general in my life and with addiction. This coming January, I will be alcohol-free for four years.”
Rarely do singer-songwriters achieve such wonderfully complex, yet accessible sounds, but on ‘Feel the Rain’, Anthony has made an essential and brilliant release. Available now on all major platforms, it’s as close to modern musical therapy as you can possibly get.
