Big O and P-Rawb Navigate New Sonic Territory on 'Time Space'

Four years on from their well-received debut collaboration, 'The Complexity', London-based producer Big O and New Jersey/Philly artist P-Rawb reunite on the deeply personal EP, ‘Time & Space’. This five-track offering, entirely produced by Big O, sees the transatlantic duo exploring fresh sounds and reflecting on their individual and shared journeys since their last joint effort.

The EP opens with 'Follow My Lead (Intro)', a track that gently ushers the listener in with atmospheric, swirling textures. Subtle tones build before synths introduce a sense of vibrancy. Layered vocal lines, at times intimate and at others evoking a sense of timelessness, create a striking effect that feels both expressive and insightful.

The mood shifts with 'Rise To The Top', which seamlessly blends choral elements with a strong, head-nodding beat. The track possesses a stylish and expansive feel, expertly merging different musical moments into a steady, evolving instrumental piece. 'Hard Pressed' stands out as a particular highlight, delivering a powerful example of the creative synergy Big O and P-Rawb are capable of producing.

'Power Within (Searchin’)' features notable contributions from Fashawn and Adrienne Mack-Davis. This track is a masterclass in Big O's clever production, building perfectly crafted soundscapes. The interplay between Big O and P-Rawb here is a clear indicator of their strong collaborative dynamic. The production layers haunting vocal samples, moody keys, and sharp boom-bap drums for an absorbing listening experience. P-Rawb and Fashawn deliver motivating verses that encourage listeners to tap into their inner fortitude, offering a powerful and uplifting message for navigating life's hurdles.

'For The Gods', featuring L.O.U. and Rxlph with scratches by Decksterror, takes a slightly more unconventional approach. It’s impactful despite its off-kilter feel, with shifts and skips in the rhythm before a commanding vocal line cuts through. A subtle grittiness underpins the swirling sounds, adding depth and maintaining focus.

The latter half of ‘Time & Space’ offers instrumental versions of all five tracks, allowing listeners to fully appreciate the intricate production from Big O. Recorded by Darryl Michael and expertly mixed and mastered by Argiris 'Argy W' Psylomesis, the EP showcases a refined sound. ‘Time & Space’ is a concise yet impactful project that highlights the growth and continued chemistry between Big O and P-Rawb.
