Dmighty Returns with a Double Dose of Modern Hip-Hop on 'Revive'

An artist we’ve been eagerly waiting to hear from again, Dmighty grabbed our attention back in August 2024 with his hypnotically smooth '5:50'. Now, the wait is over, and Dmighty has come crashing back onto our radar with the release of ‘Revive’, a free-flowing double dose that will have you ensnared.

As Dmighty himself put it, "I decided to release two songs kind of last minute but felt it was time where one is more of a chill vibe and the other is more free flow…” Having already proven his talents for crafting tracks with a blissed out, captivating sound, it’s no surprise that ‘Revive’ follows this trend, offering two new glimpses into his world of evolving hip-hop sounds.

First up is 'Embrace', a cut that feels deeply laid-back and imbued with a reflective quality that hints at expressive nostalgia. It’s built on an ebb-and-flow energy in the production, creating a chilled-out atmosphere that takes over in an instant. Dmighty's delivery glides effortlessly over these shifting, sometimes staggered soundscapes. The whole track is underscored by these weighty bass beats that contrast with the lightness in Dmighty’s tone, and that repeated line, "Everything is cool, ‘cause she loves everything I do," really sticks with you, adding to that easy-going, self-assured feel.

'Flyy' takes things in a different, but no less enjoyable direction. This track is much more open and spacious in its sound, giving Dmighty room to operate. Here, his flow feels sharper, more direct, propelling the song forward with noticeable confidence and a real sense of flair. There’s a definite charm in the way the flowing instrumentals contrast with his quicker, almost rapid-fire vocal delivery, adding layers and depth to the track.

Together, 'Embrace' and 'Flyy' might have arrived a bit last minute according to the artist himself, but they feel like a well-considered pairing. They highlight Dmighty's ability to navigate different sonic territories, moving smoothly from introspective chill to more dynamic, upfront flows. Like ‘5:50’ before it, ‘Revive’ is a solid return that leaves us keen to hear what comes next.
