A producer born and raised in Virginia, Konstellation G began his love affair with music as a youngster, playing percussion in concert and with the marching band. Heavily influenced by the unique sounds of the early 2000’s greats like Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, and Missy Elliot, Konstellation G developed a natural affinity for melodic hip-hop sounds, following in the footsteps of his idols, while also remaining firm to his own unique creative vision.
After meeting mentor Sonny Carson, Konstellation G became a recording and mix engineer at S5 Studio in Brooklyn where he honed his skills and created his debut full-length album, ‘Journey to the Nebula’. The first taste of this forthcoming album, ‘Yodah’ opens the door to a new age in rap, where the traditional cliches and paint-by-numbers sounds are left for dead and new, conscious sounds take their place.
In his own words, Konstellation G has said that ‘Yodah’ is a song about ‘dealing with the paradoxes between insecurity and self-belief; overthinking and self-determination”, and both lyrically and musical, he is right on the mark. Flowing with a rolling, melodic atmosphere that draws you in from the very first note, ‘Yodah’ unleashes an array of smooth cosmic sounds and introspective instrumentals, laying down a sea of digital sounds that instantly eclipse everything else. It’s a strong and engaging blend of tones, one that shines with smooth, percussive strikes and nuanced future bass influences, creating a strong foundation for Konstellation G’s soulful flow.
While short, ‘Yodah’ is wonderfully pervasive, digging deep into your self-conscious and forcing a melodic epiphany. Like a space-age cleanse or an engaging aural resent, it’s utterly intoxicating, ushering in a new wave of cosmic enlightenment through a unique tour de force of down-to-earth street rhymes, spacey instrumentation, and overarching introspective consciousness.
An impressive glimpse of what we can all expect from Konstellation G’s record when it drops, ‘Yodah’ is a perfect illustration of his subtle, intrapersonal sound. A welcome change from the traditional, his artful combination of soulful samples, future bass, 808s, and melodic hip hop is worth celebrating, and definitely worth experiencing.
