Innovation and experimentation have always been hallmarks of outsider artists. Locked in their own dizzying worlds of technicolour splendour, they are free to cast their minds into the dense creative voids that the mainstream shies far, far away from. It’s from these far-flung regions that East Wave first arose, fusing EDM with pop to create a whole new kind of beast. In the wake of the genre comes Daniel Pertsev, and aspiring artist who recently released his single ‘Go On’, a deft anthem that is currently pushing to take over the world.
Inspired by the likes of Zedd, Duke Dumont, and Calvin Harris, ‘Go On’ is a soaring piece of vision and sound. It’s a pioneering anthem driven by Pertsev’s passion and desire that have been rapidly and relentlessly pulled into the spotlight. A track that revels in building tension before breaking into glistening strands of pure emotion, the vivid light of the instrumentals breaks against the almost apathetic delivering of Pertsev’s vocals. It’s a contrast that works to heighten the overall sound of the piece, as well as highlighting the dynamic nature of the East Wave sound.
‘Go On’ is a single that manages to show both Pertsev and his chosen genre in the best of ways, offering up a straight-shot of outsider art into the heart of the mainstream. It’s a powerful play and one that will certainly see Pertsev turning heads.
