Love Ghost – ‘Quiet Voices’

  • 2 min read

One of this generation’s most important new bands, Love Ghost have become champions in a revival of grunge-infused rock ever since they first surfaced on the music scene. Indie rockers from L.A., the four-piece of Finnegan Bell (guitar and vocals), Mya Greene (Viola and Keyboard), Ryan Stevens (Bass and background vocals) and Samson Young (drums and background vocals) have been redefining modern rock one hit single at a time, racking up positive reviews from fans, critics, and the entirety of Broken 8 Records.

Fresh from a successful tour of Japan and Ecuador earlier this year, the young indie rockers have wasted no time in penning another hit, lashing out once again with the newly crowned ‘Quiet Voices’. Produced by Carl Restivo, the new track is another wonderfully personal and brilliantly track, built on the same unrestrained music and emotive genuine lyrics that made previous singles ‘Mr Blue’ and ‘Lobotomy’ so captivating.

Tackling the universal issues of self-doubt, jealousy and betrayal, ‘Quiet Voices’ uses delicate symphonics to emphasise the personal nature of the lyrics while also backing it with heavy influence from Mya viola, shifting the focus and adding a glistening stream of subtle atmospherics. Progressive, relatable, and perfectly orchestrated, the new single takes the steadfast percussion of Samson and the visceral Ryan and layers them seamlessly with Finnegan’s guitar work, combining the separate elements into a track that seems to be purpose built to inspire.

With each track that Love Ghost release, they have become even more impressive, and ‘Quiet Voices’ is no exception. With their earlier work, the band proved they have a talent for building massive rock tracks that are infused with a respect for the past and a vision for the future, but with each coming release, they’ve also been able to tap into a more emotional connection, showing that they’re not just great musicians, but also great communicators, connecting directly with the same fears, doubts, and vulnerable moments that we all share.

Another mature and immutable step forward for the band, ‘Quiet Voices’ is proof of what we’ve known for some time, that Love Ghost are something truly special.
