A talented duo who seem to be in the sways of a musical renaissance, Temperature Falls have started their year with a seemingly unstoppable creative output. After stepping firmly into the spotlight with previous single ‘Solace’, Camilla and Ward are back with another sensual single set to catapult them onto the world stage.
Inspired by the likes of Bjork, Portishead, and Pearl Jam, Temperature Falls have built a fascinating, multi-layered sound that blends the most emotive and engaging elements of trip-hop, indie rock, and electronica together. With a clean, cultivated, and fiercely unique sound, their music has long since been championed for its contemporary style and lavish atmospherics, and with the release of ‘1-2-3’, they’ve been able to push the boundaries of modern music yet again.
Opening with a hushed, trip-hop feel, ‘1-2-3’ revels in complex, overlapping sound that flicker and flow, crashing atop another and building an unassailable wall of sound. Camilla’s vocals emerge from the melee and call out with their soft, sultry tones while the evolving melody of the single transitions between cool atmospherics and more immediate indie-infused anthemics. In classic Temperature Falls’ style, ‘1-2-3’ shines through a staggering cinematic style, effortlessly breaking away from the mainstream while still holding firm to a shimmering, universal sound.
At only two-and-a-half minutes long, ‘1-2-3’ is certainly one of Temperature Falls more transient releases, but its brevity and free-flowing nature add to the song’s strength and appeal, ensuring that every time you hit play you uncover something new about it. Like a shifting scene or delicate mirage, ‘1-2-3’ makes its mark and then fades as quickly as it arrives, content to simply carve its own unique path and then fade back into the rolling silence.
Magnetic and wonderfully paced, the new single offers another intimate look into the duo’s upcoming new EP, proving their talents for building new and intimate sounds beyond any shadow of a doubt.
