St. Laviathan – ‘Saint Shot Ya’

  • 2 min read

Has there ever been a more passionate or prolific rapper than St. Laviathan? Since he first arrived on the scene last year, he’s become one of the most talked-about new talents, and for very good reason. Born in Miami and raised on the sounds of Tupac Shakur, DMX, Nas, and Eminem, along with groups like Outcast and 50 Cent and the G-Unit, St. Laviathan has been steadily filling our pages with his tracks and taking over Soundcloud with his unique style and relentless passion. Today, he’s back again with another sharp single, the undeniable ‘Saint Shot Ya’.

Produced by Whiz Capone, the new single is St. Laviathan’s ode and tribute to hip-hop, with the now-iconic rapper rallying off an impressive list of names and talents like Mic Geronimo, D12 and Tragedy Khadafi. When speaking of the new track, St. Laviathan explained, “I want people to know that I am a true student of hip-hop, no matter my range as a songwriter, I am an emcee first”.

It’s a hard line that St. Laviathan has set, but one that he plays so perfectly. Shifting his tone and delivery to focus on the music, ‘Saint Shot Ya’ sees him channelling the golden age of rap, and even going in for some spirited shots at the end of the second verse. The production is absolutely perfect, with everything Whiz does heightening the impact of the track, while St. Laviathan’s beats and delivery prove that he’s not some random talent off the street, he’s the real, deal.

A powerful release that perfectly builds upon St. Laviathan’s legacy, ‘Saint Shot Ya’ is everything we’ve come to expect from him and so much more. A pure, powerful, and absolutely stellar example of hip-hop that will impress everyone from the most casual listeners to the true hardcore fans, St. Laviathan’s new single is all you need to hear right now.

You can stream the new single above via Soundcloud and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the new collaborative project that St. Laviathan will be dropping with Whiz in the Fall of this year.
