When we last caught up with The Stone MG’s they were championing the release of their debut EP, ‘Good Times’. A searing piece of rock ‘n’ roll anthemics, the EP painted The Stone MG’s as a band who are not afraid to fight for change or tackle difficult issues head on, and now, with the release of their new single ‘Love and Let Die’, they’ve proven once again that they’re a true force to be reckoned with.
Released last week on October 5th, ‘Love and Let Die’ is another gritty slice of uncompromising, old school rock that cuts you to the quick and never looks back. A funk-punk hybrid fuelled by heavy set rock ‘n’ roll swagger and an infectious blues-esque groove, there’s no mistaking the new single as anything but a Stone MG’s anthem.
Lyrically, ‘Love and Let Die’ is as dark and poetic as we’ve come to expect from the duo, embarking on a vengeful trail after love has gone askew. Lines like ‘I punched their tickets after I chased ‘em around the world / ain’t no place they could hide’ send shivers down your spine while guitars and drums collide in the background.
A single that’s all about visceral, emotive touches and undeniable grooves, ‘Love and Let Die’ is The Stone MG’s at their best. Check it out below on YouTube.
A perfect new release any way you cut it, ‘Love and Let Die’ is a perfect illustration of The Stone MG’s style, conjuring up visceral imagery and an unforgettable sound. A perfect continuation of their sound, the single is another anthem for the lost and left behind, proving once and for all that The Stone MG’s are set to be one of the next great musical duos.
