Sydney's 51st Avenue have unleashed their latest single, 'Moments', a dynamic departure that pushes the boundaries of their signature sound. Featuring new bassist Anthony Carollo, the track combines moody synth and drum machine elements with explosive metalcore riffs, showcasing the band's evolution into heavier territory.
'Moments' takes an unexpected lyrical turn, exploring the thrill of a one night stand. Vocalist Alynnis Zizza explains, "I’ve been waiting for a track that makes me feel like dancing, so when I heard the instrumental of ‘Moments’, I couldn’t help but move. It’s really different to our other tracks so I figured why not lean into that and write about something we haven’t before."
The song marks Carollo's debut as a songwriter with 51st Avenue. He describes the creative process: "We approached the song wanting some real signature 51st pop/RnB vibes in the verse and intros, with a melting chorus. The song evolved and we all agreed that the bridge needed to be climactic and something we haven’t done before, and so our first breakdown was born!"
51st Avenue have earned a solid reputation in the Australian alternative scene, sharing stages with notable acts such as The Beautiful Monument, Eat Your Heart Out, and Hands Like Houses. They have also garnered substantial support from radio and media outlets like triple J, triple J Unearthed, Wall Of Sound, Heavy Mag, Music Feeds, and Tone Deaf.
