New Zealand-born, LA-based artist Alisa Xayalith has just dropped her latest single, 'Ordinary Love', a vibrant pop anthem that celebrates the simple joys of everyday romance. With tender vocals and diary-like songwriting, the track is a breath of fresh air, capturing the essence of uncomplicated love with gentle guitars and an infectious melody.
Co-written with Benjamin Francis Leftwich and produced by Tyler Spry (known for his work with Cannons, girl in red, and Dagny) and Harry Charles, 'Ordinary Love' marks a new chapter for Alisa. "‘Ordinary love’ feels like my own kind of coming of age story," she shares. "The unfolding of something very real and feeling confused by how uncomplicated it can be when I’ve mostly known and lived the opposite.”
The accompanying music video, filmed in Phoenix, Arizona, perfectly complements the song's playful spirit. Directed by Brandon Black, the video features a collage of charming moments, capturing the excitement and spontaneity of new love. Alisa explains, "I wanted the music video for ‘Ordinary Love' to be a visual rush of images that felt like the start of something new."
The video even includes a "happy accident" where a spinning camera resulted in a unique and captivating shot. Alisa's improvisational skills shone through, demonstrating her ability to adapt and create magic even in unexpected situations. A sunrise captured on her iPhone in Mexico adds a personal touch, symbolising a significant moment in her own love story.
With 'Ordinary Love', Alisa Xayalith continues to evolve as an artist, showcasing her versatility and captivating storytelling. This latest single is a promising glimpse into her forthcoming project, leaving us eagerly anticipating what she has in store next.
