M. Shane, a musician, writer, and conservationist based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has released his second single, ‘All My Life’. Following the success of his debut single, ‘Buried Alive’, this new track is another haunting and evocative offering from the rising artist, capturing a rare essence that is often lacking in the mainstream scene.
‘All My Life’ is a live studio recording featuring the renowned steel guitarist Patrick Lyons, known for his work with artists like Colter Wall and Cody Jinks. The song is a stripped-down, acoustic piece with a dark and sparse soundscape reminiscent of Townes Van Zandt, Mark Lanegan, and Scott Kelly's solo work.
Despite its melancholic instrumentation, the lyrics of ‘All My Life’ tell a straightforward love story. This juxtaposition of heartfelt lyrics and sombre music creates a unique and captivating listening experience. As M. Shane explains, "If you read the lyrics, you'd think this was a sappy love song, but it finds a satisfying counterpoint in the dark, sparse instrumentation that's become my sonic signature."
The track was originally recorded a few years ago and has been patiently waiting in the archives for its moment to shine. "It needed a little something extra on top of just the guitar and the vocals, and the steel [guitar] was the finishing touch that it needed," says M. Shane.
‘All My Life’ is the second of three singles leading up to M. Shane's debut solo album, due for release in 2025 on Echis Records. The third and final single, ‘Not Come Undone’, is scheduled for release on December 6th, 2024.
In support of his upcoming album, M. Shane has been touring extensively throughout Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah, captivating audiences in intimate barroom settings.
