Waives & REIGNS Dive Deep with Stellar New Single 'Collateral Damage'

Camden Town's own Waives, a producer known for his boundary-pushing soundscapes, is back with a fresh new track, 'Collateral Damage', featuring the soulful vocals of REIGNS. This unexpected collaboration sees the pair explore the liquid drum and bass genre, resulting in a sonic experience that's both vibrant and emotionally charged.

Waives, who swapped the hustle and bustle of London life for the tranquillity of the coast, has been making waves behind the scenes for years. This move seems to have unlocked a new level of creativity, with the producer drawing inspiration from the vastness of the ocean. "This would not be my usual genre," Waives admits, "but it just felt right in the moment so we went with that instinctive feeling and I’m really proud of the song we’ve created.”

'Collateral Damage' perfectly blends Waives' experimental production with REIGNS' powerful vocals, reminiscent of iconic artists like Janis Joplin and Nina Simone. REIGNS, who first burst onto the scene with her hit "Take Your Power," has been steadily building a name for herself, collaborating with dance music heavyweights like Carl Cox and DJ Zinc. Her music, a captivating mix of soul with a modern edge, has earned her support from major radio stations and landed her on countless Spotify playlists.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, REIGNS shares, “This tune resonated with me as soon as it came to life in the studio. Experiencing the ups and downs of modern day dating and remembering your worth and deciding when to walk away can be hard to navigate. This is for everyone who’s feeling that!”
