Tom Grennan Unveils 'Boys Don't Cry' Ahead of Anticipated Album

Tom Grennan has dropped his latest single, 'Boys Don't Cry', offering another glimpse into his upcoming album, 'Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be', slated for an August 2025 release. This new track, released through Insanity Records, blends a catchy 80s vibe with modern pop sensibilities, featuring vibrant synth melodies and Grennan's signature powerful vocals.

'Boys Don't Cry' tackles the often-taboo subject of male vulnerability, a theme close to Grennan's heart. He aims to dismantle the outdated notion that men should suppress their emotions. As he explains, "I'm an emotional person. In a lot of towns, especially where I come from, there's still this stigma around emotion. Men are told they need to be about football, beer, and zero emotions. Boys Don't Cry is the tonic to the negative 'man up' usage, a term used by us lads who find it hard to deal with other vulnerability and infact our own."

The song serves as a personal declaration, a step towards normalising emotional expression for men. "It’s the song that helped me go, ‘do you know what? I'm comfortable with being able to cry and process emotions, I call my mum or my missus and some friends who have also struggled but since passed the barrier. It’s a difficult situation being a lad around people when they get emotional, or being emotional yourself and talking about it. So let’s have that conversation."

Following the success of 'Higher' and 'Shadowboxing', this new track further highlights Grennan's artistic growth. Working alongside producer Justin Tranter, he has crafted a 15-track album that promises to be a state-of-the-art pop experience, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like George Michael and Freddie Mercury. "So much of the new music is uplifting — it makes you dance, makes you sing," Grennan reveals, reflecting the album's positive and energetic feel.

Despite the album's title hinting at past struggles with mental health, Grennan assures fans that 'Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn't Want To Be' is ultimately a story of resilience and self-belief. "It's about my fight with a side of me I have a lot of trouble with. It’s still a daily battle. But I’ve learned how to fight all these demons and I’m mentally and physically prepared now. I’m in athlete mode."

With a string of successful albums and singles behind him, including multiple number ones and gold certifications, Grennan is poised for another triumph. "This album is about me, revived. Now I'm at a place where I DO want to be. And I'm ready to blow people's heads off." His upcoming UK and Ireland arena tour, the GRENNAN '25 tour, will coincide with the album's release, providing fans with an opportunity to experience his new music live.
