Great to have the chance to speak with you, Inés. When did you first start making music? Where did it all begin, and what inspired you?

“I wrote my first song when I was 12, but I had been in my elementary school’s band since second grade. I really struggled in school, but music was just something that came so naturally for me. I ended up teaching myself how to play piano and guitar and with that I wrote more and more songs. I would say my inspiration was around my dad being a big fan of music and always saying that he wanted me to be in a rock band. His dream for me became my dream and I started to take music more seriously my senior year of high school.”

Can you tell us a bit about your latest release and what it means to you?

“’Both In Bed’ is a song I wrote almost two years ago and have always loved. I wanted it to capture that raw feeling of laying in bed your first night alone after a breakup. When all you think about is how you want to be with that person and wonder where they are and if they are with someone else. I worked with three different producers for this song to really try and capture these feelings and be able to have the listeners lay in bed in a dark room with their headphones on and just feel what they need to feel.”

Are there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when writing the release?

“I wrote this song right after my breakup with a long distance ex. I pretty much just picked up my guitar and tried to write lyrics that described when you're just anxiously thinking about what this other person is doing to cope with the breakup.”

What was your songwriting process for the release? How did it all come together?

“I wrote this song in about 15 minutes after finding the right chord progression. I brought the song to Josh Liebman and told him that I wanted this song to feel super dreamy and nostalgic. So, we did just that and I couldn’t be happier with how the song turned out.”

How would you describe the sound on your latest release? Has there been a change or evolution in style since you first began?

“I would say this song is indie folk. It’s definitely different from my previous releases, but I am not one to really stick with a particular sound. I don’t think art and emotion holds any boundaries. I would say that the big evolution in my music is I just know more about who I am and what I want to sound like and what I don’t. But I am definitely still finding my sound.”

Is there a central message or theme you were trying to convey in your latest release? Is there a moment in the release that really captures that idea?

“The message of the song is just the yearning for your ex right after a breakup and that anxious feeling of not being involved in their life anymore. I think the whole song really captures that idea, but my favourite part of the song is definitely the chorus into the instrumental. I love listening to that part with headphones on and just laying in my room in the dark.”

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations as an artist? Where do you see yourself in the next few years, both musically and personally?

“In the upcoming years, I would love to see myself touring and music being my full time job. I would love to stay in NYC and just keep on creating and growing musically and individually.”

What’s next after this release? Do you have any new releases or shows on the horizon?

“I actually have a song called ‘Next to Me’ coming out in January that I am very excited for the world to hear. I currently do not have any shows coming up yet...”

Is there anything you would like to say to our audience? How can they connect with you and help support you?

“I would say to listen to this song with your headphones on, laying in your bed, with your lights off and just feel with the music. They can support me by following my social media and streaming my music!”
