Great to meet you, Jack! When did you first start making music? Where did it all begin, and what inspired you?

“I started making music after being inspired by the powerful way it connects people. The desire to express emotions, share stories, and create something unique drove me to begin producing and writing. My inspiration comes from life experiences, personal reflections, and the desire to blend different genres to create something fresh. Over time, this passion has led me to develop my own sound and continue exploring new creative directions.”

Can you tell us a bit about your new single and what it means to you?

My latest release, ‘When We Were Us’, is a deeply personal song that reflects on past relationships and the bittersweet feelings of nostalgia. It’s about remembering the connection and the feeling of being truly in tune with someone, but also acknowledging the changes that come with time. The song speaks to the emotional complexity of love and loss, and it means a lot to me because it captures a chapter of my life while also resonating with others who’ve experienced similar emotions.”

What was your songwriting process for the release? How did it all come together?

“For ‘When We Were Us’, the songwriting process was deeply introspective. It began with a single emotion – nostalgia - and grew into a full story about love, loss, and acceptance. I started with the lyrics, drawing from personal experiences of change and reflection, and then built the melody around those emotions. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different sounds, trying to match the mood of the song. It all came together as I focused on creating something that felt raw and real, allowing listeners to connect to the story.”

Was the sense of nostalgia important to the central message or theme you were trying to convey? Or was there something more?

“The central theme of my latest release is the emotional journey of reflecting on past experiences, particularly the complexities of love, change, and personal growth. It’s about accepting the reality of moving on while holding onto the lessons and memories. One moment in the song that truly captures this idea is when the lyrics shift from nostalgia to self-realisation, representing the transition from holding on to letting go, which encapsulates the emotional core of the track.”

How would you describe the sound on your latest release? Has there been a change or evolution in style since you first began?

“The sound of ‘When We Were Us’ is emotional and atmospheric, blending pop with introspective, reflective elements. It’s a raw, vulnerable song that explores themes of love, loss, and nostalgia. As this is my first single, it marks the beginning of my musical journey with a distinct sound that I feel captures my vision and creative style from the start. There’s a lot of emotion woven into the track, setting the foundation for the direction I plan to explore in future releases.”

Are there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when writing the release?

When writing ‘When We Were Us’, I was influenced by both personal experiences and the music of artists who blend emotional depth with powerful storytelling. Artists like Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd, who explore vulnerability and the complexities of relationships, inspired me to dive into those feelings of nostalgia and loss. The song also draws from moments in my life where change was inevitable, but the memories of the past remained strong. It’s a blend of reflection and acceptance.”

What sort of reception have you had to your latest release? Are there any memorable moments that stand out?

“The reception to my latest release has been incredibly positive, with listeners sharing how much they connect with the song’s emotional depth. One memorable moment was receiving a message from a fan who said the song helped them through a difficult time. It’s moments like that which make this journey so rewarding. The support from both fans and industry professionals has been humbling, and I’m excited to continue building on this momentum with future releases.”

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations as an artist? Do you have any new releases or shows on the horizon?

“Looking ahead, my aspirations as an artist are to continue growing both musically and personally. I aim to create music that resonates with people, exploring different sounds and themes as I evolve. In the next few years, I see myself expanding my audience, collaborating with other artists, and refining my craft. Personally, I hope to stay true to my journey, learning from every experience and staying connected to the emotions that drive my music. I want to continue sharing my story through my art.”

“After this release, I’m focusing on expanding my music and reaching a wider audience. I have new songs in the works that explore different sounds and emotions. There are also plans for live shows, where I can connect with fans directly and share my music in an intimate way. I’m excited to continue growing as an artist and explore new creative opportunities in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates!”
