Great to be chatting with you today, thanks so much for taking the time. Let's start at the beginning. When did you first start making music?

“I first started making music professionally in 2018, but I’ve been writing since 2014. I started out doing poetry and then expanded to lyrics, but ultimately I was inspired because of my genuine love and passion for music.”

You’ve recently shared your new single ‘Wake Up’, can you tell us a bit about the track and what it means to you?

“My latest project is a collab project with a childhood friend of mine. It’s actually my second collab tape and it’s probably my best work yet, so it holds a special place in my heart.”

Are there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when writing the project?

“Definitely. My whole lifestyle and everything I’ve been through is in my music. Everything down to my childhood is in my music.”

What is your songwriting process? How does it all come together?

My songwriting process varies depending on my mood to be honest. I usually start with a catchy hook and then build the verse, but some days I work from the verse to the hook ‘cause it makes it easier for me. Sometimes it takes days for me to fully put together a song but I basically just play a beat and get in my zone.”

What’s the most important thing when you’re writing a song?

“The most important thing to me when writing a song is definitely a catchy hook and a well-structured verse, you have to be able to grab your audience’s attention.”

How would you describe the sound of the new single? Has there been a change or evolution in style since you first began?

I would describe my sound as melodic hip-hop/rap, I use rap lyrics and infuse melodies in them as well. It’s been a huge change since when I first started cause I’ve been able to develop a melodic sound along with dope punchlines.”

Is there a central message or theme you were trying to convey in the single? Is there a moment in the release that really captures that idea?

“I usually don’t have a central message within my music, I just want my listeners to listen in and be happy. Literally, just be able to hear my voice and sound and just enjoy what their listening to. My latest project definitely captures that idea with songs like ‘On My Own’ with hype beats and catchy lyrics.”

Do you have any advice you could give to bands and artists who are just starting out and trying to find their sound?

“My advice I would give to any artists and bands searching for their own sound is basically just be yourself! it’ll all come together along the way just remain true and don’t give up no matter what.”

Has there been a standout moment for you as a musician?

“Personally, my best moment as an artist was performing at a showcase, I got to hit the stage and be myself with the support of my friends and I loved every second of it.”

Thank you for sharing your journey with us, Stew. It's been inspiring to hear about your dedication and passion for music. We can't wait to see what the future holds for you. Any final words for our audience?

“I’d love to tell my audience, thank you for everything, ima keep going for ya, I love ya ! #E4I”
