Alt-rock newcomer Somber Hills reveals first single of the year with 'Not There'

Somber Hills, the rising star who stormed the alt-rock scene in 2023, is back with an electrifying new single. His first release of the year, 'Not There' offers a vibrant tapestry of emo pop-punk woven with dynamic hip-hop influences – a signature sound this artist has masterfully honed. Available to stream now, the track offers an intimate glimpse into Somber Hills' journey of ambition, personal growth, and finding fulfillment along the way.

Honest and emotive, 'Not There' will resonate deeply with listeners yearning for self-acceptance. The song's message reinforces the beauty of life's unexpected detours. As he explained, “I felt creativity take the wheel while writing this song. As always, there was nothing I intentionally chose to write about. but deep down there was something true that needed to be said. I cried when I heard the final mix and the song made sense to me. I truly wouldn’t trade a thing for what I have and have built this far and I’m so excited to see where this project goes with the beautiful people I have around me.”

'Not There' is the first peek into Somber Hills' 2024 offerings, following an incredibly successful year. In 2023, the project "where's my guitar" took the scene by storm, featuring hits like 'Some Say', 'Sometimes (My Brain Doesn't Work)' with Between You And Me, and 'Hollywood' featuring BESTIES. His earlier 2023 project 'Pain Station' was another fan favorite, boasting 'Hurdles', 'YDS', and 'Guilt'. This success culminated in a sold-out Oxford Art Gallery show.

Drawing inspiration from diverse acts like Paramore, Radiohead, and Travis Scott, Somber Hills (Lukas Martin) effortlessly fuses his eclectic influences. The result is a powerful alt-rap/rock blend guaranteed to spark movement and ignite emotions. It's music that brings people together, igniting energy in mosh pits and hazy house parties alike.

With over a million streams already under his belt, Somber Hills is an unstoppable force. He's shared stages with luminaries like A$AP Ferg, YNG Martyr, Jonny Craig, Seth Sentry, and Call Me Karizma. At the heart of it all lies his deep desire to build a global community of fans who find belonging in the music – just like he has.
