Asbjørn's 'Vulnerably Happy' Blends Heartache with Machine Beats To Announce New Album

Danish pop sensation Asbjørn delivers an emotional paradox in his new single 'Vulnerably Happy', offering a tantalising glimpse into his forthcoming album, 'The Secret Our Bodies Hold'.

Asbjørn's star has been steadily rising this summer, capturing the hearts of Denmark with his unique blend of alt-pop. Fresh off the back of a performance at Roskilde Festival and widespread national recognition, he returns with a track that embodies his signature emotional depth and innovative production.

'Vulnerably Happy' is a sonic contradiction that encapsulates the bittersweet experience of unrequited love. Grinding synths and a relentless beat create a mechanical, almost industrial backdrop, contrasting beautifully with Asbjørn's tender vocal confessions. The effect is a song that feels both urgent and vulnerable, mirroring the emotional turmoil at its heart.

Asbjørn explains the unconventional inspiration behind the track: “Picture this - a broken-hearted Asbjørn waiting for a bus by a construction site. The machines, grinding and screeching, created these aggressive polyrhythmic patterns that made my body move in new strange ways. I hurried home, translated my movements into the beat and poured my heartache out on top of it.”

This physical and emotional translation became Asbjørn’s guiding principle for the entire album. “I used my body as a compass”, he says. “Instead of producing music I could dance to, I danced the music to life”.

'The Secret Our Bodies Hold', due for release on November 1st via Asbjørn’s own label Body of Work, promises to be a deeply personal and innovative exploration of love, loss, and the human experience. Fans can look forward to a short European tour in late October, offering an intimate preview of the album's raw emotionality and kinetic soundscapes.

Asbjørn's music continues to defy expectations, inviting us to dance through heartache and find beauty in the paradox. With 'Vulnerably Happy', he proves once again that he is a true original, pushing the boundaries of pop music and carving out a unique space for himself in the musical landscape.
