Dora Jar's Tender New Single 'Lucky' Signals a Fresh Chapter

Dora Jar, the innovative folk-pop artist, has returned with a compelling new single, 'Lucky'. This release marks her first offering since her highly acclaimed debut album, 'No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire', which was released last year via Island Records.

'Lucky' builds upon the sonic landscape she established in her debut, offering a further glimpse into her unique musical world. Accompanying the single is a poignant VEVO live session, allowing fans to experience the track in a raw and intimate setting. Currently, Dora is on tour across the UK and Europe with Gracie Abrams, connecting with audiences and sharing her music live.

'No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire' showcased Dora's remarkable ability to defy genre boundaries. The 13-track album, including the previously released single 'Ragdoll', traversed a diverse range of styles, from folk and rock to pop, creating a captivating "dark pop fantasia". The album's creation was as eclectic as its sound, recorded over two years in various locations, including Poland, Alaska, California, and even Mississippi, where Dora was involved in building a "mud cob hut".

The album also boasted an impressive list of collaborators, including Ralph Castelli (glaive), Henry Kwapis (Dominic Fike, Dijon), George Daniel (The 1975, Charli XCX), and Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, Clairo), all contributing their production talents. Following the album's release, Dora embarked on a successful "Behind The Curtain" North American headline tour, with sold-out shows in major cities like Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and London.

Originally from New York but raised in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old artist has quickly garnered attention from prominent media outlets such as NPR, The New York Times, W Magazine, Billboard, Pigeons & Planes, and Pitchfork. Her early work, including gentle indie rock tracks like 'Multiply', and her distinct songwriting style, led to the release of her debut EP, 'Digital Meadow', in 2021, followed by 'comfortably in pain' in 2022.

Dora's career has also seen her share the stage with major artists. In 2022, she joined Billie Eilish on her 'Happier Than Ever World Tour', performing to massive crowds across the US, Australia, and New Zealand. After her own successful headline tour, Dora supported The 1975 on their national arena tour in 2023, playing at iconic venues like TD Garden in Boston and Madison Square Garden in New York City. With a standout festival performance at Lollapalooza in 2024, a debut album under her belt, sold-out headline shows, and now, new music on the horizon, Dora Jar appears poised for an even bigger 2025.
