Today, multi-talented artist Joshua Bassett marks his return with a nostalgic new single, 'The Golden Years'. The track is a taste of what's to come from his debut album of the same name, set to be released on July 26th.
In Bassett's words, the album is “a love-letter to ‘the golden years’ of my life thus far. This body of work spans the hope and heartbreak of my transition into adulthood. It’s a genre-bending journal entry from the bottom of my heart.”
'The Golden Years' marks Bassett's first musical offering of the year, following 2023's uplifting single 'Just Love'. Last year was also filled with triumphs for the young artist, including a sold-out global tour and his reprisal of the character Ricky in the fourth season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Though a multi-hyphenate talent, Bassett humbly describes himself as "just a kid from San Diego who loves music." His journey began in Oceanside, CA, playing drums in church and teaching himself various instruments before penning his first song at the age of 15.
After securing the lead role in the Disney+ series and signing with Warner Records, Bassett launched his solo career in 2020 with 'Common Sense'. The following year was a breakout for the rising star, marked by the release of his self-titled debut EP, the viral hit 'Feel Something', and the emotionally charged trio of tracks 'Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free'. His 2022 EPs, 'Sad Songs In A Hotel Room' and 'Different', further showcased his introspective songwriting.
Now, with a debut album on the horizon, Joshua Bassett is ready to share the next chapter of his musical journey. "The Golden Years" is available to stream now, and the album can be pre-saved ahead of its July 26th release.
