Leigh-Anne Pinnock has released her second solo track, ‘Forbidden Fruit’, a sultry and passionate song with a mesmerising reggae-infused beat. Out now via Warner Records, the track is part of an upcoming collection of songs and follows the heartfelt R&B cut ‘Stealin Love’.
Produced by Albert Hype, and written by Leigh-Anne alongside J Kash and Nija, ‘Forbidden Fruit’ details the thrilling and illicit beginnings of Leigh-Anne’s relationship with her partner, footballer André Gray. "I wrote 'Forbidden Fruit’ at a writing camp in Miami, and it’s actually about how André and I met," Leigh-Anne explains. "This one gives me sweaty, sultry, reggae dance vibes. The way the beat drops makes me so excited to bring this one to the stage."
This new collection of songs was created during the making of Leigh-Anne’s debut solo album. “I’ve been writing & recording so much working on my album but while making it, I’ve made a collection of songs that fit together in their own world,” she shared. Fans will have an early chance to hear these new tracks live at Leigh-Anne’s sold-out intimate headline show next month.
Since launching her solo career, Leigh-Anne has amassed over 60 million global streams, achieved two UK top 40 singles, and graced the covers of numerous publications. ‘Don’t Say Love’ and ‘My Love’, her previous solo releases, experimented with Garage and Afrobeats, showcasing her versatility. ‘Stealin Love’ offered a raw and honest exploration of the darker sides of love, while ‘Forbidden Fruit’ is a passionate and sultry banger where Leigh-Anne surrenders to temptation.
‘Stealin Love’ and ‘Forbidden Fruit’ are just the beginning of an upcoming collection of songs that perfectly encapsulate Leigh-Anne’s artistry and sonic direction as she continues to establish herself as a solo artist.
