Norwegian Powerhouse, Sløtface, Turns Film Noir on 'Tired Old Dog'

Norwegian pop-rock sensations Sløtface are back in their creative bag with the release of the cinematic 'Tired Old Dog'. The single sees frontwoman Haley Shea slip into the weathered shoes of a classic, washed-up detective navigating a gritty world of intrigue. This marks the second single from their highly anticipated album, 'Film Buff', scheduled to hit the airwaves in September 2024.

Following a whirlwind of success in the Australian music scene at the end of 2023 – including a hit collaborative single with The Buoys – 'Film Buff' is set to be a genre-bending tour de force. The album's first single ignited a firestorm of praise from UK outlets like NME, The Line of Best Fit, and BBC Radio 1, while capturing the attention of Australian tastemakers Happy Mag and MILKY. Even the band's home country of Norway has taken notice, with NRK P3+P13 championing the track.

The noir-inspired single, which was released on the same day as frontwoman Haley’s 30th birthday, channels gritty detective dramas, as she explains, "In this song, I play the part of a washed-up detective, but when the police chief asks ME to do one last job, I tell him to fuck off.”

To celebrate the thematic depth of 'Film Buff', the band is taking their fandom to new heights. They've launched a dedicated Discord film club, inviting die-hard fans to join a monthly deep dive into the thrilling world of horror movies. It's an innovative move that speaks to their unique storytelling sensibilities.

With each 'Film Buff' track exploring a classic Hollywood trope, Sløtface proves they aren't afraid to break the mould. Fans can anticipate an album tour through the UK and Germany following the album's release, giving them a chance to experience the cinematic energy of Sløtface live.
