Anterra Takes Flight with Ethereal Debut Album 'These Things Take Time'

A stunning artist known for her distinctive, evocative and ethereal dark indie folk music, Anterra has just released her debut album 'These Things Take Time'. A collection of songs that reflect her searing and harmony-laden style, the album is a rare example of near-perfect sounds, from the moment the crystalline vocals of 'Lunar Days' to the closing notes of 'Willow Tree'.

Owing to the personal nature of the release, the album's title is a testament to Anterra's own artistic development. Throughout the album, her lifetime of musical experience as a vocalist and violinist shines through, lending a unique depth and maturity to her compositions. Her partnership with Peter Stone (The Rare Occasions) on lead guitar and Cale Hawkins (producer for Raveena) on production further elevates the music, creating a lush sonic landscape that perfectly complements Anterra's ethereal vocals.

Songs like 'Lunar Days' artfully blend acoustic guitar with haunting electronics to grab your attention, while elsewhere 'Art of Orbit' shines through delicate notes and Anterra's gorgeous vocals. Her delivery and vocal harmonies are the centre in everything, flowing through the music with ease and making an indelible mark. No matter where you turn, whether it be the quiet shades of 'Brittle', the blossoming, folk passages in 'Desert Garden', or the dreamy, yet rousing sounds in 'End of Time', Anterra's vocals are utterly captivating.

The album's eight tracks follow a spiralling, slowly unfolding narrative arc, following the protagonist’s growth outward from her place of origin and a naïve perspective, toward acceptance in the realms of love, loss, family, society, and self.

Anterra's poetic lyrics are both evocative and thought-provoking, inviting listeners to delve deeper into their own journeys of transformation. While the album's sound is undoubtedly enchanting, it is the underlying lyrics that give it true power. Her words serve as a relief valve for our collective grief, offering solace and catharsis through meditations on vulnerability, isolation, and acceptance.

'These Things Take Time' comes on the heels of Anterra's whirlwind entrance into the music scene. As Anterra embarks on her album release tour, it is evident that this debut album is just the beginning for this distinctive and promising voice in dark indie folk.
