Fred Abbott & The Wild Unknown - 'Where No Shadows Fall'

London-based Fred Abbott & The Wild Unknown released a glistening heartbreak anthem 'Where No Shadows Fall', taken from their new album 'Shining Under The Soot' out now via Lojinx.

The fourth single to come from the album, 'Where No Shadows Fall' explores grief and love and the lies we tell ourselves in order to make the pain of loss bearable. The poignant slow-burning track wraps the listener in a glistening melancholy with yearning vocal harmonies that build with country-tinged strings and sun-drenched slide guitar to become an epic anthem for heartbreak.

On the track, Abbott explains, “'Where No Shadows Fall' was one of the first songs written for the album. Although extremely simple in form, it actually took me many months to finish writing it. The first half explores the fantasy of life after death, the second half exposes the desperation behind that dream, the inescapable feeling that deep down, we know there’s nothing.”

After stepping out on his own with his 2015 solo album 'Serious Poke', following the split of Noah And The Whale, Abbott let loose with the classic rock riffs and infectious hooks that, in hindsight, made his influence apparent on the later Noah And The Whale material.
