Kingswood - 'Good Whiskey'

Ahead of the release of their much anticipated new studio record 'Home', the boys from Kingswood have announced a string of intimate album listening parties for fans on the East Coast to get around, this February.

The news comes as Kingswood continue their mammoth 120+ date ‘Hometowns’ tour around the country, the band’s biggest live undertaking to date. For the ARIA and APRA nominated group, this new artistic chapter is set to be their most dynamic and exciting yet and already, their live shows have reflected the strength of the 'Home' record, due for release on Friday, the 24th February.

Along with these new shows, Kingswood have shared the official music video for their album track, ‘Good Whiskey’. Released earlier in January, the song offers up a beautiful hint at how 'Home' flourishes within a rich sonic soundscape. Of their new visuals, the band says ‘Good Whiskey’ blends life on the road with a feeling of nostalgia and optimism for what is still to come.

Alex Laska of the band added, “Film and video has always been a particular passion in Kingswood’s history. We’ve attempted mini-movies, tributes to Hollywood, cinematographic master-pieces and week-long escapades which has led to a catalogue of wonderful memories and moving images. In this renaissance period of Kingswood, the methodology has shifted from the lavish and outlandish to the real, documenting the Kingswood way of life. Good Whiskey, is the first glimpse into our new / old world”.

With the 'Home' listening parties set to kick off in Brisbane this February, before making their way to venues in Melbourne and Sydney, Kingswood are looking forward to getting in these rooms and experiencing the album with fans for the first time, in real time.

Alex continued, “The Kingswood listening parties are a tradition that is dear to the band and its continued creations. The listening parties will take place in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane amongst some of the band’s favourite venues in Lulie Tavern in Collingwood, Shady Pines Saloon in Darlinghurst and The Gresham Whiskey Bar in Brisbane with their forthcoming album to be previewed in full with perhaps some secret live performances.”
