Danish indie rockersMansfield are back with their new single‘Chasing after You’,a passionate song about longing and confusion. Instantly appealing with its playful guitar riffs and an anthemic chorus, the song is captivating from start to end.
SinceMansfield's critically acclaimed debut album‘Star-Crossed Lovers’ was released in the summer of 2020, the band has explored new musical grounds. With a clear nod to British indie tradition and bands such as The Clash and The Beatles,Mansfield’s single‘Chasing after You’ is a bold and novel interpretation of the Merseybeat sound. While the band acknowledges their musical roots, they also add a personal and contemporary touch to their work.
In May 2022,Mansfield performed at the legendary venue The Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK, marking the band's entry on the international music scene. The audience's positive response to‘Chasing after You’was decisive for the band picking this song as the first single from their upcoming EP.

In terms of production and mixing, we have added even more layers, which is a good indication of the musical direction our work is currently taking.” The music video for‘Chasing after You’ portrays the universal theme of unrequited love in a dramatic and symbolic way with actress Amanda Hermansen's character turning reality upside down – perfectly illustrating the lyrics of the song.

‘Chasing after You’ will be followed by another single on November 11th before the release ofMansfield'sforthcomingEP‘Come Rain or Shine’ on February 3rd, 2023.‘Chasing After You’was recorded at Black Tornado Studios, Copenhagen and produced by Morten Bue (Mew, Iceage, Tindersticks, Kashmir).
