The Dust - 'New Beginnings'

The Dust are a unique alt rock band with a no-holds-barred approach to their music which they deliver with an unrelenting passion and energy, They are a force to be reckoned with on the music scene. Whether they're tearing through a guitar solo or delivering a brutal drum breakdown, they never fail to get the crowd enticed, revved up and wanting more.

Formed in Jersey, Channel Islands in 2019, The Dust have quickly made a name for themselves with their energetic musical offerings and high octane live performances. The band is made up of Matt Rushton on Vocals, Jack Deveney on Bass, Theo Ibbotson on Drums, Michael Smith on Lead Guitar, James McMillan on Rhythm Guitar and Skylar Simoncelli on Bass.

‘New Beginnings’ was written collaboratively between Matt, Michael, Theo and Skylar and the track was recorded and mixed by Lee Davis. The fourth single to be released by the Jersey-based band and is a bit of a change up for the band showcasing another dimension to their diverse sound. While still very much rooted in the band’s rock roots, it's a slower, steadier pace, building gradually to a natural peak before relaxing again with more mellow vocals being allowed to take more of a pivotal role within the track.

Along with the single, the band have also released an accompanying music video which you can watch here now.

The band have hinted at the new direction their music has taken, or indeed ‘new beginning’ if you like by saying of the track, “Something lingers of the man before” - a nod perhaps to their loyalty to their rock/metal roots.
