Detroit's Painted Friends releases 'Gomnia: Volume 2 (Indimindi)', a collaborative indie anthology

The world of indie-folk is about to get a shake-up with the release of Painted Friends' latest collaborative effort, the undeniable 'Gomnia: Volume 2 (Indimindi)'. Forget predictable, genre-defined releases; this album is the result of a collaborative experiment aimed at redefining expectations in music.

The Detroit indie-rock duo of Jeremy McWhorter and Mitch Crosby have created an undeniable experience in the new album, exploring new creative spaces and collaborative themes. This fresh approach delivers a listening experience unlike anything audiences might expect. Each track is a tapestry of diverse influences, a testament to the collective creativity behind the project.

As Jeremy explained, "The name Indimindi comes from the depths of my brain. I didn’t really know what it could mean until recently. My father-in-law said it could mean “independent mind”, and I think that’s pretty cool. What it means and what it represents are different, though. Either way, the music is a bit experimental for us. Our approach to writing this album was completely different than ever before so the result is a canvas of two people collaborating on sounds for the first time ever. What we ended up with is something we’re both incredibly proud of."

Through songs like 'What Moves You', 'Cain Complex', and of course, the unforgettable titled track, Jeremy and Mitch play on the concept of introspection, boldly embraced experimentation and pushing aside traditional genre constraints.

At it's core, 'Indimindi' is a reminder that the most exciting music often exists in the spaces between traditional categories. The boundary-pushing nature of the album is sure to resonate with listeners seeking the unique and unusual, offering a new experience with every listen.
