The solo project of songwriter, producer, and mixer Ed Zisk, edenai (pronounced ed&i) delivers a layered and wonderfully passionate blend of styles. Inspired by his love of techno, pop, house, rock, and folk music, edenai creates the kind of music that makes you want to feel and experience something completely new.
Always looking to push boundaries and recreate the norm, edenai's music is innovative, introspective, and constantly evolving, built to shift and change with time. It’s music built to express a single, powerful idea, as Ed himself expressed, “We can only be certain of one life, so why not try to influence each other to live it the best way we can through sonic vibrations?”
The latest in a growing list of impressive singles from the unique project, ‘asamase’ is a hypersonic blend of sounds and styles, layering tempered, quickfire beats with scintillating synth tones, and constant, driving rhythm. Named after the Dravidian word for a small, superficial wound, the single is a breakaway release that explodes with sound, offering a feeling of triumph after an epic struggle.
Speaking with us about the single, edenai explained, “I wanted this song to feel like a return to battle after one realized that the wound they received was survivable. There is a period of training or doing what you’ve always known, pockets of confusion, then an eruption of energy, that can spin out of control until one regroups and comes back stronger than ever. The whole song Is a metaphor for the process of recovery.”
Available now on all major streaming platforms, ‘asamase’ is a single that holds firm to a wild breakthrough energy, offering an undeniable sound that will echo in your head long after it’s finished playing. Influenced by greats like Tame Impala, Pink Floyd, Skrillex, Mark Ronson, Ludwig Göransson, and more, edenai isn’t just making music, he’s reinventing it.
