Loretta - 'All I Know'

Sydney group Loretta return this week with the latest in a string of impressive pop releases, this time serving up an emphatic dose of feels in ‘all i know’.

The trio, well known to fans for their expert grasp on ‘heartbreak pop’ and a natural ability for fusing contemporary influences with a fresh sound of their own, Loretta take another stride forward with memorable music to take us further into the summer.

‘all i know’ follows on from Loretta’s recent release in ‘when i saw u’, as well as their impactful tunes ‘late night’ and ‘bad luck’ that captured fans’ attention throughout the early parts of 2021. When it came to this song in particular, Loretta dove deep in producing a narrative that remained accessible to listeners, and personal to their own style.

The way Loretta have orchestrated their releases to date have detailed a narrative of young love, the dizziness and euphoria that accompanies those initial stages; from the transition from lust to love, and the road out of it in some cases, Loretta charts the journey with charm and impact.

Ellis Hall of the band explained, “This song is the most symbolic out of our releases for the year. I wrote it at a time when things were good for me - it was a happy song and I always wanted it to be that way. Things changed and perspectives shifted and it became harder to look at the music in the same way."

I had to change some of the lyrics but it flowered into something a little bit more special after that - it became a monument of acceptance and it still speaks from the same place just in a slightly different way. It’s the best last release we could have put out for this year.”
