An up-and-coming rapper who is set to take over the UK’s checkered hip-hop scene, Mathews has recently released his three-part EP, and we absolutely can’t get enough of it.
Titled ‘Disorder’, the new EP is a brilliant, but all too brief showcase of Mathew’s talents, infusing a classic hip-hop sound with more alternative creative leanings to make something truly impressive. More than just another rap project, ‘Disorder’ arrives as a highly personal piece, one that looks deep into Mathews’ view of the world and how he moves through each day.
Speaking about the EP as a whole, and the lead single ‘The Real’, Mathews explained, “The EP is a description of the three characteristics; The Realist, The Pessimist, and the Optimist. 'The Real' is the first song in the EP and it is from my view of my life and how I go about conquering it, in a realistic manner, hopefully, others can listen to it and also relate to it in some sense.
Available now, ‘Disorder’ is a worthy listen, delivering a maelstrom of artful audio snippets, alt-rap beats, clever wordplay, and stark, earnest delivery. Built to impress and inspire, ‘Disorder’ is arguably one of the hottest independent releases of the year so far, offering a strong sound that never fails to hit its mark.
