An impressive talent who has previously graced our pages and playlists with singles like ‘Run’ and ‘After Eight’, Myyora has announced herself as a wonderfully unique talent. With an elegant, sombre and utterly charming presence, she’s an artist who embodies the smooth R&B and neo-soul sounds that she presents, offering a stylistic shift that often leans on vibrant EDM and evocative pop. Today, Myyora has announced two massive new singles, the heartfelt ‘One Song’ we covered a few moments ago, and the spiritual, healing ‘Free’.
Born in London from Congolese parentage, Myyora has also spread her roots to France and manages to blend all of the existential fundamentals from those experiences into the essence of her music, as she scrutinises the irrational workings of the world, trying to make sense of it all. She works with a French Irish songwriting team and records professionally in the South of France, delivering a gorgeous sound that will charm and enchant anyone who hears it.
Creating a sound that is filled with grace, spirituality, and soul, Myyora’s new single is a perfect example of how she can capture a moment, heal, and find new light in even the darkest of times. Channelling all of her feelings from the past year into one gorgeous piece, ‘Free’ is a delicate, soul-searching piece that blends Myyora’s elegant vocals, sharp, melodic sound, and innate ability to craft open, honest connections.
Speaking openly about the new single, Myyora took to Facebook to announce its release and given some context to the piece, saying, “sharing my new single ‘Feel’ with you today on my birthday is the best gift ever! It’s a song about knowing that you have to let yourself feel and heal in order to glow, it’s the anthem for my 26th year.”
The effects of ‘Free’ are wonderfully enchanting and inherently, aptly freeing, with the piece sweeping away the grey every day and offering a helping, healing hand, and after the last few years, that’s something we can all appreciate. You can stream ‘Free’ above via Spotify, as well as on our annual Spotify playlist which also features her previous single ‘One Song’.
