New Zealand's Renée Reflects on Past Love in Emotive Debut Single 'Bomber Jacket'

Emerging singer-songwriter Renée Gilliver has unveiled her debut single 'Bomber Jacket', a poignant reflection on a past relationship that showcases her talent for crafting relatable and emotive music.

Recorded in Zac Cole's studio with contributions from guitarist and bassist Reece, 'Bomber Jacket' was born from a personal experience that Gilliver felt compelled to share. Speaking candidly about the single, Renée shared, "I started writing the song last year in January and with the help of my producer Zac Cole and some friends, I finally have the vision I had for my song come to life."

The track opens with a delicate guitar melody that gradually blossoms into a captivating soundscape. Renée's pristine vocals glide effortlessly over the instrumentation, delivering heartfelt lyrics like "All those empty words, they meant everything to me" with an authenticity that resonates deeply.

Inspired by artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, and Olivia Dean, Renée's music explores real-life events and emotions, inviting listeners to connect with her experiences on a personal level. "My music is about real-life events that have happened in my life that I would like to express and help people relate to," she says.

'Bomber Jacket' serves as a powerful introduction to Renée's artistry, demonstrating her ability to translate complex feelings into beautiful and accessible music. With its evocative lyrics, soaring vocals, and lush instrumentation, the song leaves a lasting impression, suggesting a promising future for this talented newcomer.
