Nobo – The Best Way to Be Free

A wonderfully talented artist who has been constantly driven by his twin passions of psychology, spirituality, and music, Nobo is a firm believer that no one belongs in a box. Empowered by his belief that everyone has their own unique talents, Nobo has spent years refining his own musical abilities, channelling his heart, mind, and soul into his wild creative journey. After years of hard work and transformation, Nobo has shared his triumphant three-track EP, ‘The Best Way to Be Free’, an enchanting project that has been a dream come true.

Taking his moniker from a nickname earned as a child, Nobo first began making music in school, forming a rock band with his friends and first igniting a creative flame that has burnt until this day. Speaking about his first unsteady steps towards music, Nobo explained, “For many years I had a love – hate relationship with music. An unhealthy ambition undermined my authentic expression. For many years my focus was fixated on my person and not on my music.”

A highly spiritual soul, Nobo experienced a fundamental awakening after many years of meditation, and event that shaped his music explicitly. As he openly explained, “I recognized myself as a nobody, as a pure soul. I realized that self-realization isn’t about being famous or respected. It’s about being a nobody. From here on out, it was all about the music.” It’s this freedom and influence that has helped make the new EP and reality, with every track shining with an air of acceptance and understanding. Musically, it’s a release that is universal and wonderfully relevant, capturing a timeless sound that is bolstered beautifully by heartfelt songwriting and a deep, almost intimate connection that is built on Nobo’s feelings, inspirations, and aspirations.

Opening with ‘Free and Wild (Onita’s Song)’, a piece that Nobo originally wrote for Onita Boone, the EP shines from the first few chords, embodying a soulful sound that lingers between modern pop passages and immersive rock movements. A song about radically freeing yourself from the past, it’s a profound and powerful piece that revels in authentic experiences and hard-earned truths. In second track, ‘I Like the Idea’, Nobo reaches for the stars, creating a heavenly piece through gorgeous vocal tracks, and rising, piano led melody. Finally, the closing track of ‘True (Marvin’s Song)’, Nobo creates an artful dedication to Marvin A. Smith, a man who Nobo says “managed to lure me out of my corner and become even more myself,” layering soft acoustic sounds with seamless chord progressions and rich, layered harmonies.

Surrounded by a host of exceptionally talented musicians who have helped bring Nobo’s creative vision to life, ‘The Best Way to Be Free’ is a wonderfully engaging release for any fan of spiritual pop releases. Delivered with incredible precision and passion, the songs are brought to life with Nobo’s soaring vocals and expansive musical arrangement, with every moment elevated perfectly by the personal and expressive underpinning.

A release that deserves to be heard and appreciated, ‘The Best Way to Be Free’ is available now on all major platforms.
