Bean Magazine Emerges from 'In The Shade' with a Sun-Drenched Indie-Rock Offering

Brisbane's indie-rock darlings, Bean Magazine, have finally lifted the curtain on their much-anticipated EP, 'In The Shade'. This sun-soaked collection of seven tracks, out today via Purple Phase / Warner Music Australia, is a testament to the trio's effortless blend of punk energy, sensitive lyricism, and classic rock riffs.

Produced by Sam Cromack of Ball Park Music, 'In The Shade' features a string of recent singles that have already cemented Bean Magazine's place in the indie-rock scene, including 'Old Or Young', 'Chicken', '3', 'Nobody Wore Shoes', and 'FIRE'. The EP also introduces two new gems, 'Don't You Die' and 'The Weather', further showcasing the band's knack for crafting infectious melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.

Bassist Seb Baren explains the band's excitement about finally sharing the EP with the world: "We've been sitting on this body of work for 'In The Shade' for a while now and are so excited for it to see the light of day. When we brought these songs to our producer, Sam, over a year ago, he immediately expressed similar levels of excitement. 'Old or Young,' particularly, feels nostalgic to us and delivers an immense feeling of home. The EP as a whole encompasses everything we have been as a band since the beginning, and we want everyone to love it just as much as we do."

'In The Shade' is a sonic tapestry that weaves together the raw energy of punk, the heart-on-sleeve lyricism of indie-rock, and the timeless appeal of classic rock. Henry Creamer's vocals channel the spirit of 90s grunge icons, delivering each line with a passion that is both captivating and cathartic. Gabrielle Beiers' drumming provides a driving rhythm that propels the songs forward, while Seb Baren's basslines anchor the music with a solid groove.

The EP's lead single, 'Old Or Young', is a nostalgic anthem that captures the essence of carefree youth. Creamer's yearning vocals, coupled with the band's infectious energy, make it an instant sing-along classic. Other standout tracks include the raucous 'Chicken', the introspective '3', and the anthemic 'FIRE'. Each song on 'In The Shade' is a testament to Bean Magazine's ability to create music that is both emotionally resonant and undeniably catchy.

With 'In The Shade' finally out in the world, Bean Magazine is ready to take their music to the masses. Tomorrow, they kick off a national tour supporting The Rubens, which will see them winning over crowds across Australia throughout September and October. Their recent performances at BIGSOUND and on tour with Rum Jungle have already garnered rave reviews, solidifying their reputation as an electrifying live act.

Bean Magazine is a band on the rise, and 'In The Shade' is a testament to their undeniable talent and infectious energy. This EP is a must-listen for fans of indie-rock, punk, and classic rock alike.
